New Patient Visit
Your initial appointment at Compass Dental will consist of a consultation with Dr. Callstrom as well as a thorough examination. X-rays, if needed, will also be taken. In some cases, treatment options will be reviewed as part of your New Patient Visit. However, if you have a number of dental treatment needs and/or a complex medical history, Dr. Callstrom will want to take some extra time to evaluate your needs and prepare your treatment options. In this case, he will ask you to return for a second appointment on anther day to discuss your treatment options. This additional appointment, called a Treatment Conference, is free of charge.
IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. In most cases, patients under the age of 18 will be scheduled first with the dental hygienist or dental assistant for an initial cleaning. They will also be seen by Dr. Callstrom for an initial examination during that appointment.
Please assist us by providing the following information at your New Patient Appointment:
- Completed online forms (paper forms are also available)
- A list of medications you are currently taking.
- Your insurance card if you have dental insurance.
- Recent x-rays from your previous dentist. (Talk to our office staff to determine the best method for acquiring these x-rays)
If you’ve ever been told by a doctor to pre-medicate with an antibiotic prior to any dental treatment, please alert the office when you schedule your New Patient Appointment.
X-Rays
If you have had x-rays taken at another dental office within the past few years, please alert our office when you schedule your New Patient Appointment. Our office staff will help you determine if you should have the x-rays forwarded to our office in advance of your appointment. It is important that all recent x-rays are available for your New Patient Visit. If additional x-rays are necessary, they can be taken at our facility.
