Same-Day Crowns

Thanks to new innovations in dental technology, you can now get a permanent crown faster than ever.

Say goodbye to gooey impressions & temporary crowns.  Dr Callstrom uses scanning technology, computer-aided design software, and an in-office milling machine to complete new crowns in one day.

How long does it take to complete a same-day crown?

A crown requires two appointments and takes approximately 80 minutes … 60 minutes for the first appointment & 20 minutes for the second appointment.

  • At the first appointment, Dr Callstrom removes decay, shapes the tooth, and takes an optical scan of the patient’s teeth.
  • At the second appointment, Dr. Callstrom makes final adjustments and cements the permanent crown.

The two appointments are separated by at least one hour.  The time is needed for Dr. Callstrom to design and mill the crown.  During this time, patients are able to leave the office.  In fact, if it works best for a patient’s schedule, these two appointments can be separated by a longer span of time.  Some patients like to have the first appointment early in the morning and the second at the end of the day.
